Motor vehicles liability insurance – known as RCA, is presently one of the types of insurance which is mandatory in Romania.
All individuals or legal entities owning vehicles subject to registration are required to provide for civil liability cases as a result of damage caused by car accidents in Romania.
The insurer provides compensation for damage to the insured liability by law, to third parties injured by car accidents, as well as expenses incurred by the insured in the lawsuit.
Damages are awarded regardless of where car accidents were produced, both for driving and stationary vehicles.
Compensation is paid for damages produces by the existence or operation of the installation mounted on vehicles and trailers.
Compensation is granted in the amounts that the insured is obligated to pay as damages and legal fees to people injured in personal injury or death, and for the damage or destruction of property.
Compensation is also granted where the person driving the vehicle responsible for the accident is a person other than the insured.
